What is the SNAP exam, and who conducts it?

One of the most important MBA entrance exams – SNAP 2022 has following key highlights:

Symbiosis National Aptitude Test, popularly known as SNAP, is the MBA Entrance Exam for Admission to 15 Symbiosis Institutes in India. Every year around 1 lakh students from all disciplines including Engineering, Commerce, Humanities and even Law take SNAP Test to get into of the 2,500 MBA seats in Symbiosis colleges. SNAP 2022 will be the 6th computer based exam in the history of Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) conducted by Symbiosis International University (SIU) Pune. Earlier it was a paper based test. 

  • SNAP full form is Symbiosis National Aptitude Online Test.
  • SNAP is the common, mandatory MBA entrance test for admission to the 15 Symbiosis Institutes affiliated to Symbiosis International University (SIU) Pune.

What is the Exam Criteria For SNAP exam

The SNAP exam criteria typically include the following:

  1. Educational Qualification: Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. Candidates in their final year of graduation can also apply, but they will have to produce a proof of having passed the graduation examination at the time of admission.

  2. Age Limit: There is no age limit for appearing in the SNAP exam.

  3. Work Experience: Work experience is not mandatory but it is considered as an advantage for some of the institutes, but it can help to boost the candidate’s profile.

  4. Nationality: Indian citizens, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), and Foreign nationals are eligible to apply for the SNAP exam.

  5. Number of Attempts: There is no limit on the number of attempts for the SNAP exam.

SNAP 2023 Exam Pattern

Symbiosis International University (SIU) Pune which conducts SNAP annually. It has released the SNAP pattern 2022. In 2017, SNAP changed its exam format as Computer Based Test from earlier Paper Based Test. The very next year in 2018, SNAP pattern was changed again with introduction of special questions. The SNAP 2019 exam structure was changed again with fewer number of questions. The SNAP Test 2020 structure was changed further due to Covid-19 pandemic to 60 questions and one hour duration exam which is being followed for SNAP 2022 also.

SNAP EXAM SYLLABUS

What is the SNAP syllabus?

The SNAP exam syllabus typically includes the following topics:

  1. General English: Vocabulary, grammar, comprehension of passages, sentence completion, synonyms, antonyms, and idioms.

  2. Quantitative Aptitude: Arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and data interpretation.

  3. Analytical and Logical Reasoning: Data sufficiency, logical reasoning, and analytical reasoning.

  4. General Awareness: Current affairs, business, and economic events, both national and international.

In the General English section, you will be tested on your vocabulary, grammar, comprehension skills and idioms. The questions will be based on passages and sentences, and you will have to fill in the blanks or complete the sentences.

In the Quantitative Aptitude section, you will be tested on your knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry and data interpretation.

The SNAP exam registration process typically involves the following steps:

  1. Visit the official website of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) and click on the link for the SNAP exam.

  2. Fill out the online application form with the required personal and educational information.

  3. Upload the necessary documents, such as a scanned copy of your passport-size photograph and signature, and academic transcripts.

  4. Pay the application fee online using a credit/debit card or net banking.

  5. Submit the completed application form and wait for the confirmation of your registration.

  6. Once your registration is confirmed, you will receive an admit card which will be required to be carried on the day of the exam.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION

Pay the SNAP Test registration fee of Rs.1950/- per test from August 04, 2022 to November 24, 2022 as per the instructions mentioned on the website for Payment of SNAP Test registration fee.
The applicant has to pay a programme fee of Rs 1000/- for each programme the aspirants wishes to apply for.

SNAP Exam is very much similar to other MBA Entrance exams. The best way to prepare for SNAP is appearing for mock tests. There is no specific book to prepare for the SNAP test. A candidate may refer the test structure and get books as per that for the preparations.

SNAP is held only once a year.
A candidate can appear for a maximum of three tests for SNAP 2022. If a candidate appears for three tests, the higher score will be considered for final percentile calculation and there will be no normalization.
